Department of Gynaecology & Endoscopic Surgery

Overview

The complexity of modern surgery has increased the demands and challenges to surgical education and the quality control. As a result, the training and education in gynecological endoscopic surgery has been critically reviewed in recent years to enable Clinicians, both surgeons as gynecologists to acquire the requisite psychomotor skills to perform endoscopic surgery. This has led to a reduction in patient morbidity and mortality in the developed world. However, the rate of minimally invasive approaches in major procedures in most African countries, rarely exceeds 4%.

The Department of Gynecology and Endoscopic Surgery of Sali International School of Fertility Medicine was established to provide care, training and carry out research in gynecological pathologies that require surgical treatment using laparoscopic treatment.

Apart from strong continuous professional development certificates, the department offers graduate training for medical doctors to empower them to undertake clinical and research activities at their own institutes.
